A Day & A Night In Dublin

Ah, Dublin….I am back.  You are one of my most favorite cities in the world and I am thrilled to be back for a few days.  And I brought a friend with me.

And you did not disappoint.  Dublin is a fabulous city.

Temple Bar area in the daylight and void of people, which is very rare.  The Temple Bar area of Dublin is the most vibrant and full of people.

Dublin’s St Stephen’s Green is much like Central Park to Dubliners.  It was teeming with people today.  The weather was cool and crisp, but sunny and bright.  It was a perfect day for exploring the city and all its many delights.  Dublin is young city with a fabulous youthful vibe.

Yup, reminds me of Central Park in New York City.  They were opened twenty years apart from each other.  Central Park was first.  Here is a view of O’Connell’s Bridge.

This small house is tucked into the edge of St Stephen’s Green and absolutely delightful.

The townhouses that line the streets surrounding Merrion Square.  This famous square was laid out in 1762 and completed in the early 1800’s.  I love the simplicity.  It is one of my favorite places to walk in Dublin.

The Luas tram … very cool.  And reminds me of Portland.

I am not sure if I would have taken this picture, but now that I have it, I love it.  Thanks Yuri…you see things I don’t always see.

The entrance to the Temple Bar area in the evening light.  And PIZZA…I have missed real, honest American style pizza.

The Temple Bar area in the evening is delightful.  The bars can be loud and noisy, but the streets are often filled with people moving from place to place, at least until the bars close at 5A and the party people teem into the streets.

Temple Bar is always worth a stop.
