AKA, a week out of the office in the middle of summer with a little bit of learning, even more good times with fellow PCV’s and a ton of relaxation. Awesomeness!
Here is Zena, a fellow Tiger team member proudly displaying our … that we all wore everyday. And here is the flipchart paper that states our name, leader, motto, emblem and chant.
Everyday there are different activity classes you can sign up for and attend. Embroidery seemed natural for me, but having Sim and Blakely with me was not what I was expecting. So the camera came out very quickly. Thankfully they were both great sports with me taking pictures for the sole purpose of posting on the blog.
After one of my evening swims, I found a group playing soccer. PCV’s just seemed to gather in the evenings towards things that interested them. I swam, some played volleyball, some played soccer, some played old Russian games with sticks…there was all kinds of activity and chatter going on everywhere.
Every night my roommates chatted with their respective boyfriends. Mine was in England and/or Scotland, so calls from him. Emails, but I must say I was a bit envious of these two getting nightly calls from their men in the states, and mine was disconnected from the world while he was on vacation. Oh well!
Each team had to lead morning activities one day. Here are some examples. All the commands had to be in Russian…here we all are playing Dima Says, just like Simon Says but in Russian.
So, what body parts do you know in Russian?
We had the opportunity to learn how to make black current jam and do some canning.
More games…
This was much like Rock, Paper, Scissors, but with animals. It was quite fun.
On the last day every team had to do the same skit, but in a different genre. Ours was romantic comedy. LOL!
