Rarely do I have the opportunity to see my stepbrother Ben and his family. Ben, Aimee and Gabriel were here to spread Grandma Mae’s ashes and attend her memorial in Washington. My stepmom, Beth came up from Coos Bay for a long weekend while they were here. The week everyone was here was packed with school commitments for me, so I didn’t know if I would get a chance to just spend some time with them.
Finally I was free on Friday eve. Ben and the family ended up staying with me and we stayed up late chatting and packing. Ben and I chatted, Aimee packed. We finally crashed around 1A and I set my alarm and coffee pot for 3A. I slept through the alarm and Beth woke me at 407A. I went flying out of bed, we were all in the car and headed out of the driveway at 417A, we made the airport by 452A. The flight was on time and due to depart at 6A. Ben, Aimee and Gabe were through security by 525A. Amazing!!
It was great to see them, but wow, what a whirlwind twelve hours.
