Another awesome day at Camp ABC. Today was Team Color Day, so teams dressed in their assigned colors. There was a rocket launcher making challenge for the teams and PBC finally got started today. PBC is a lot me with several partners, so I was thrilled too finally meet the kids I would be working with and get started. We ended the day with a birthday celebration for a fellow PCV and camp staff member, Brittany.
The rocket launcher challenge was awesome. The teams had 30 minutes to design a marshmallow rocket launcher. And they only had a few items to work with. It was such a great activity for the first full day of camp.
Then it was time to celebrate Brittany's birthday. First up was getting her ears pulled 26 times by her Ukrainian friends for luck.
Of course, the celebration included beer and food. This is the dark Poltava beer. All regions in Ukraine have their own beer and some are more well known then others. This beer was pretty good. It was much like a dark ale with a bit of a cherry flavor.
AND of course, there were the people to help celebrate. I lost count of all the peeps and we had a great time just chillin' out after a long day.
And the birthday girl with some of the boys....HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BRITTANY!
