Ukraine is an interesting country when it comes to many things and this includes the weather. It started to snow this morning at about ten, but noon it was SNOWING and near blizzard conditions. I was thinking it cant get much worse and then came the wind and suddenly the snow was blowing sideways. It was nothing like anything I have ever seen.
Pete, Zach and I finally made it to our hostel, which is perfectly placed in the very center of Kyiv. We then ventured to dinner and beer…and as I walked back I snapped a few pics of the snow as it just kept doing its thing.
By my estimation it snowed roughly an inch an hour for 24 hours. Yep, that’s two feet…it was crazy…
Before the snow plows and the army was called in to help stranded drivers, trains, buses and clear snow from the city center…
So quiet and peaceful. This little red car was just outside the door to the building the hostel is housed in and I was really excited to see what the car would look like the next morning.
