Another great day of vacation. I love just wandering London. Yuri and I start with Starbucks every day…yeh me! I love the streets and the architecture. I love the people and the grocery stores. I love the Tube and the parks.
Our hostel was located in the Holland Park and Kensington area of London, and once we adjusted we found that we really enjoyed the location. But next time we are renting an apartment and staying for a couple of weeks or a month.
The Liverpool Station. I love the openness and life of these place. I could have just stood on the balcony and watched the world go by for hours.
This was unexpected and we conned our way to the top. It was incredible. We loved the view. Incredible…
The Gherkin. This very interesting building was started in 2001 and completed in 2004. The building has become an iconic symbol of London and is highly recognized. It was on Yuri’s must see list.
St Paul’s Cathedral is the seat for the Bishop of London. The original church dates back to 604 AD and sits on the highest point in London. The present church was built after the great fire of London in the late 17th century and is English Baroque style.
The view from the church steps looking down Oxford Street. And the Oxford Street Station.
Yuri just could not resist. A picture with the British Bobbies. The London police force was created in 1829 and they do not carry guns, so cool…
Traditional London, right…love, love, love
Same church as above, but I really like the light in the evening….
When Yuri and I arrived into London we made a list of things we both wanted to do and as I write this I wish I had a picture of the list, but about fifth down on the list was ‘walk Tower Bridge at night and KISS’. Cool, right. I had told Yuri about a blind date I went on years ago in London and how perfect the night had been, but that a boyfriend would have made it absolute perfection.
Yuri remembered the story…and I got my kiss with the boyfriend.
London Bridge all lit up…
