Olympic Stadium & Goodbyes

Yup, tonight was my first time to attend a football game in the new Olympic Stadium that was built to house the Euro2012 games.  The crazy part is that the Lugansk team was playing the Kyiv team and we were a long ways from Lugansk.  Cary, my sitemate, was organizing a group of PCV’s who had just finished their Close Of Service Conference to attend the game.  There were 31 of us.

It was AWESOME!!!

Kate and I had a great time hanging out during the weekend…and we were the only two non Group 40 attendees to the game.  It was so fun to hang out with so many new people.

Oh, how I will miss these two when they leave Ukraine in six weeks.  Cary and Dara both live in the Lugansk Oblast and Cary is officially one of my sitemates as he lives in the city of Lugansk.  And here they are giving a shout out to Vasyl, our regional manager.

More peeps who I will miss as they depart Ukraine in the coming weeks.

I was interesting to spend some time with the group who entered Ukraine six months before my group did…and then to watch them all start the process of saying good bye to each other.  Their goodbyes made me appreciate the goodbyes I will be saying in seven months. And appreciate the time I still have in Ukraine.
