I am still chillin’ at IST, but the training facility is located just north of Kyiv, so on the second night a group of us escaped and met up with a group of other PCV’s in central Kyiv. It was simply a night of shenanigans and mayhem, because that’s how we roll.
It was awesome to catch up with old friends and meet some new peeps. Patrick, on the right, and I trained together, and his brother and partner were visiting from California. The Peace Corps experience is like nothing I have ever done or will ever do in my lifetime and it is something most of us love to share with family and friends. So I always love to meet up with PCV friends and their visiting family. I am always grateful that they make the trek to Ukraine. It is expensive and time consuming to get here, but such a big part of our lives and who we become that I am always honored to see visitors come and go.
Ah, goodness this is such a motley crew… And this is the one time that indulging in a McDonald’s fry craving is easy to fix. The beer tent and McDonald’s are side by side. Beer and french fries…yup!
Chris seemed to think it was high time to introduce the entire table to Fifty Shades of Grey. And not just from the beginning, but he proceeded to read the Anna losing her virginity scene. Listening to him was pretty funny, but the love the reactions from the May’s across the table. Josh and Mary are a blast…and did a great job at playing along.
Such a great evening!
This was my threesome for the week. Christina and I were training together and have become great friends…and then we added Ben. Ahh, Ben. My love for Ben runs deep. This gorgeous man is simply amazing and it was great to see him after a year. He lives on the other side of Ukraine and I have missed him. The three of us had a fabulous time together…getting into all sorts of trouble….
There is this thing going on around here…take one picture faking funny or awe…and another serious pic…seconds apart. These two pics are awesome. And seem so real….
Ahh…PK is trying to look sober…huh! Lucky for him Tondraya beautiful face saved him…
Christina and I after a very long day teaching together, and finally relaxing. Love this girl. And again, PK…just being PK…love him!
Sometimes this blog is hard to keep up on, but entries like this one make it all worth it. I laugh and smile just writing the entry…
