Yuri’s mom is dacha shopping. And Yuri is so not excited about this idea, but he goes along with it. And I am invited along. Not really for my opinion, but I quickly understand that I am along to keep Yuri’s sanity in check. LOL! The guy, like most guys, does not like shopping under any circumstances, let alone shopping for a second home that he will be primarily responsible for. HEHE!
The dacha is not in great condition and comes with a large piece of property. Most Ukrainians and Russians have dacha’s if they are apartment dwellers. The dacha’s provide land for having a small farm like garden. But the main issue with this search is that Yuri and his mom live on a large piece of property with a single family dwelling that already has a yard and garden that is difficult to maintain.
Eventually, we move on and Yuri’s mom is not at all excited with this prospect, much to Yuri’s relief.
There is a small access road to the dacha and this waterway flanks the road. Looks like summer paradise for swimming. All I need is an inner tube and I will just hang out on the waterway all day.
The next few pictures are from a reservoir that feeds water into the energy plant nearby. About half the shoreline is lined with less dacha like houses and more second home like places. And property that rarely comes up for sale.
I am completely in love with Ukraine. I am surrounded in beauty.
Yuri’s Mom, Lydia. She and I have the same wandering souls, so I was really excited that she was up for an adventure today. Poor Yuri, he got to play driver.
