I had a fabulous Easter with Yuri and his mom. Saturday evening I was ready to sleep and Yuri called. He wanted to know if I was interested at being picked up around 11:30 and visiting several churches with his mom. I was thrilled with the idea, but slowly realized as we were talking that he meant PM and not AM. Like in 60 minutes.
So, I jumped in the shower and was quickly enjoying my first of four church visits in just under four hours. It was a fantastic experience. At the last church Yuri and I stood in a circle with many other and waited for our paska bread and Easter eggs to be blessed. Next year I will try and get more pictures of the events as they unfold.
We then went home and SLEPT. Yuri called in the afternoon and we were quickly headed to his friend Alexey’s so I could meet his new car. We tooled around for a bit and visited the gas station. Alexey’s car is a bit different and can run on a biofuel in addition to an oil based fuel. I cant remember what kind of a car it is, but it was born in 1974, one year after me. Wow!!!
And then Yuri took me to sushi for dinner. I haven’t always been a huge sushi fan, but I had a chicken teriyaki rice bowl that was amazing…and dessert looked really pretty.
