What is a Sunday without an adventure…

And today did not disappoint.  Sara and I organized a group of trainees to meet at Hotel Ukraine in the city center of Chernihiv.  It is a common meeting place for all of us and easy for most of the trainees in the general area to access.  The idea was to meet at 1215P and therefore have plenty of time to get to the circus about a ten minute bus ride away.  Shortly after 1240P we finally found the needed bus and hopped on.  We arrived in time for the circus, only to find that is was sold out for the day…oops.

So we stood in line for a while, and then the both suddenly closed as the clowns selling tickets had to go and be clowns.  Oops!  Thank goodness for Masha, one of our technical facilitators who wanted to hang out with us for the day, otherwise this situation could have been much more frustrating.

Now the line is closed for thirty minutes, so off we go to the fair right next door.  The smell of popcorn and cotton candy was amazing, and refreshingly familiar.  However the rides look interesting at best, but oh well.  We bought tickets for the Ferris Wheel and jumped on.  Yup, jump is a literal term around here, as they do not stop, they just slowly creep by and you better get in your seat quickly.  This is sure to make all the Americans smile and giggle a bit.

After a few rides, we headed back to the circus ticket booth for tickets to attend the following Sunday.  Yippee!  We now have tickets for the circus and the six of us who are going are very excited.

See, Sundays around here are always filled with something a little bit different.

I think that jumping onto a moving ferris wheel would be a little out of my comfort zone! Sounds like a fun day though!
