Happy Easter!!!

Easter is big in Ukraine.  Many trainees were up at somewhere between 2A and 5A to attend church with their host families, and then came home to a large meal with lots of vodka, and finally a long nap.  I was a bit different in as I did not go to church at five AM, but the vodka flowed at Easter breakfast, and the food was plentiful and amazing, as always.  Now I am ready for a nap.

Here is a smaller version of a traditional Easter cake which adorns many tables today.  And here is our Easter breakfast,  There are three salads, chicken cutlets and the sliced oranges are for after the shots of vodka.  There is meat jelly, Easter cake, and slices of cheese and meats which includes salo.  The food was fabulous.

Myself, Michael and my host mom, Tanya.  Michael was the Peace Corps volunteer who was here in the fall.  He has been a great help for the past few weeks and just a phone call away when I need something.  He arrived yesterday for the holiday and has been fun to have around.  And here is my shot glass singling that I am very done with the vodka; however, as you can see my host mom now believes it is time for beer.
