Patience Is Now The Name Of The Game

Not that the past 18 months have involved patience already, I have now received word that it will be at least two-three weeks before I will be placed. As of right now all positions for a September departure are filled and October positions have not opened for placement. So, I wait.

The Peace Corps and I also have different priorities for placement. Mine is location and theirs is professional/educational background. So the Business Desk is where my file currently sits and I wait for an advanced business position to come available that matches my professional experience with my education. Now I just cross my fingers that what they come up with is in the Eastern Europe geographic region.

The major advantage to the wait is I continue working, which means I continue bringing in a paycheck and building the savings. Having the time to make a bit of extra money is not a bad thing.

Not to add to your impatience, but there are October programs listed here:

It was my impression that people update this page when they get an invite.

Reading your blog has been a true inspiration and a testament of patience. Patience is a virtue and you have truly been patient.

I am at the early stages of the process and will be going for my interview next Thursday. I have also been struggling with my weight all my life and thought that it would cause some problems, which almost kept me from applying. But here I am waiting patiently.

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and hope that you hear something soon.
