The move to Dundee...

Yup, the time has come to move again. I moved into my mom’s new house in August of 2008 knowing that the location was going to be temporary for a maximum of 36 months and a minimum of 18 months. Well it has been 17 months and I am moving to Dundee, about 40 minutes from the Tigard house. (Now my commute is 10 minutes.) After getting a new job in McMinnville I began a minor search for new digs. I wasn’t in a hurry, but the commute was getting old, fast and my mom wanted to move into her house after January 2010. I wasn’t optimistic of living with my mom for any length of time, so a move was the best idea. So, Jez, Sokol and I headed to Dundee on the 5th of December.

Leaving the Tigard house was much harder than I believed. I had put a lot of myself into the house, yard, and neighborhood. There are so many things I miss, but the house in Dundee is a lot of fun. The biggest change, besides square footage, is that I have a roommate. She is awesome and so fun!! I could not have dreamed up a better situation.

The most interesting part of the move was the fact that my couch would not fit up the stairs. My couch has been through the last seven years and four living establishments. It is much like a part of the family, so we had to be creative. It went through the second floor window. Thanks to the help of four adult and a seven-year old Benjamin the couch made it safely into the second floor living space. After much anticipation and more than a few odd looks from moving helpers who were convinced I had lost my mind, the couch successful moved through the second floor window in minutes. No sweat!!! I got everything on film and the pictures are sure to bring some chuckles for years to come. Enjoy!!!
