It has been almost a month since my last post. I always seem to have the best of intentions, but honestly this whole ‘not working’ thing is a bit tough on the psyche. I am still waiting until January to begin a diligent search for gainful employment, but each day brings a different level of the question, “What am I going to do with my professional life?”.
One of the first things I did was extend an intended two day trip to Seattle to five days. I was looking forward to a long visit with my close friend, Jessica, and some time with other friends and family. I love Seattle. The weather was fantastic, but honestly the highlight was the opportunity to see Celine Dion at the Tacoma Dome. Jessica had two tickets that her boss could not use, so we took him up on the offer to use them. I am a much bigger fan than Jessica, but we both had a great time. It was the best concert I have been to in a while and the music was iconic. Celine’s concert comes highly recommended if she is ever in your area.
School has continued at its same rapid pace. Plenty of papers, group meetings, class time, and reading textbooks are forever in my sights. People still ask what I am currently reading, like I have the time to read anything other than class assigned reading. BTW, right now it is The Fifth Discipline by Peter Senge and Good to Great by Jim Collins. Great reading, but not so fun when it is assigned reading. I am already looking forward to completing all my classes in October 2009 and graduation on December 19, 2009.
Otherwise, all is well. I have finished my Christmas shopping. My Christmas cards have been printed and addressed, and are ready to be mailed. I have a paper to write before next Wednesday and a presentation due with my team on the same day. Then I am off for two weeks and ready for Thanksgiving with extended family.
Have a great Turkey Day everyone.
