Time For COS Conference

We hopped of the train this AM and headed for McDonald’s.  It is not an often thing for me, but sometimes a girl just wants a sausage egg McMuffin for breakfast.  And today was one of those days.

And then there was the added benefit of getting into a random bus for the Kyiv to Chernihiv leg of this trek north and finding a few long lost friends.  When there are 91 PCV’s headed to one place via the train station at the same time the likelihood that you will trip over one is high.

So much fun!

Seriously, the Desna is still frozen.  Yickes!

Alrighty, lets get this party started.  Of course, I would be the one who awoke with a sore throat that quickly had me in bed at 9P when all of my friends were out getting their groove on.

Ben got his hugs in…many times…

Boys will be boys….Anne and I are both from Oregon and started this journey stateside many, many months ago.  I am already looking forward to the two of us living in Oregon someday.

Iryna is the Training Manager and she is the person to talk to for all things Peace Corps Ukraine.  She is amazing and keeps us all well organized.  Marat is the head of the Community Development Volunteers and tries to keep us out of trouble.  I would not have survived the past two years without these two amazing people.

One last round of flipchart fun!

Peace Corps Ukraine Group 41 Community Development Volunteers

I have spent many hours in classes, trainings, meetings and such with these peeps. There were 28 of us in training, one went home for a family emergency shortly before swearing in, so 25 swore in together. Two went home for medical reasons during their service, we miss you Adam and Amanda!  And eight of us are extending our service for six months or thirteen months.  Group 41 CD’ers ROCK!

And there are 13 of us from Group 41 extending.  Wahoo!
