I am amazed that this much anticipated vacation is coming to an end. Through thick and thin, I could not have asked for a better traveling partner. Yuri is a saint to put up with me…and I am the same for him. We have new friends and many great memories from our fabulous 12 days in England and Ireland.
The first day in London during our search for our hostel we walked past this road and I fell in love with the architecture. This is the Holland Park area of Kensington Borough.
While I slept in, showered and slept in this morning, Yuri went wandering. He was looking for St Bartholomew Hospital, which he found, but he also walked Piccadilly Square and passed by the British Museum.
St. Volodymyr, ruler of Ukraine 980-1015, erected by Ukrainians in Great Britain in 1988 to celebrate the establishment of christianity in Ukraine by St. Volodymyr in 988.
Love the line up of double deckers.
We had lunch with Laura, whom we had met in Cardiff at the beginning of our trip. She was wonderful and we ended up spending the rest of our afternoon and evening with her.
Covent Garden Market was magical, but with all the holiday decorations how could it not be. I loved the small shops and finished up my gift shopping here. Even found a new favorite tea at the Tea Palace.
Laura, Yuri and I rounded out the evening with dinner and drinks. We met up with Michaela, whom we also met in Cardiff. It was great to see our trip come full circle and connect again with such great people.
Canary Wharf was unexpected for us. It is the financial district of London and I never expected it to be so beautiful.
I laughed and laughed at this, until I finally made Yuri stop so I could take a picture. Comedy, right? I should have had him turn the camera on me. I probably looked much the same.
