I was recently invited to participate in a two day event regarding the policy and procedures of how SPA grants are approved and facilitated in Ukraine. SPA grants are Small Project Assistance grants whose funding is provided on an annual basis to Peace Corps Volunteers throughout the world by USAID. I serve on the 16 person committee who reviews and approves the funding for such grants in Ukraine.
So for the past two days I have been in Kyiv as a member of the panel for the review. I was there to represent all Community Development Volunteers in Ukraine. It was very interesting. There were two representatives from USAID and both were RPCV’s. I was an amazing opportunity that I greatly enjoyed.
