I teach a lot of Project Design and Management in Ukraine. So when the Peace Corps decided to train Regional Managers (RM) regarding PDM and asked them to teach PCV’s and their Ukrainian counterparts, my RM asked me if I would teach in my region (Kharkiv and Lugansk Oblasts). My only request was can I use Olga as my co facilitator and translator. Olga and I have taught this subject at LCPO several times. She knows the material and co facilitating is much more fun than straight translation.
Yesterday and today was our first of two trainings. We will be Kharkiv at the end of April for the second one.
Did you know that Ukrainians peel bananas from the other end than Americans? It is a great example of cross cultural communication. And trust, Ukrainians look at Americans like we are crazy during this example. It is always a fabulous icebreaker in such trainings.
I love seeing the collaboration in these pictures. It makes me happy and loving what I do in Ukraine. The below is a group of Ukrainian counterparts formulating a project idea and mission statement for the practical application component of the training.
Olga and I had a fabulous time. I love teaching with this girl, she is amazing. And the two of us get better and better with every training.
Another group formulating their Action Plan.
Here is the entire group. Twenty-three of us. Such a great two days together.
And then there is this crazy bunch. This about two-thirds of the Peace Corps Volunteers in the Lugansk Oblast. We had a fabulous time together.
