Today was the beginning of language refresher and a week of friends. It was a day much like adult camp. Sara and I came to Chernihiv yesterday and spent the evening with my host mom, Tanya and my host brother and sister, Kola and Yula. It was great to see everyone and eat Tanya’s fabulous borscht. YUMMY!!!
Sara and I had a great weekend together and are now roommates at language refresher. This week could be dangerous and mean not a lot of sleep.
Language refresher is not just about language classes, it is also about learning the cultural aspects of Ukraine and crafts while practicing our language skills. There were games and knitting.
There was a different dance class every night.
There was cross stitching. Nathan and Courtney were obviously having a great time and of course, this was the one trip I did not lack my long term cross stitch project with me.
Pete and Adam. These are two of my favorite guys and it was fun to spend time today with both of them. As crazy as they are…
Ahhh, the snow. Here are a few random pictures from my bedroom window in my host mom’s apartment. I am ready to compare these to the ones from the summer and spring that I took a few years ago. As I took these this morning I was remember my blog post titled ‘Spring Has Sprung’. It was such a different look today. And COLD!!!
Ben…this chicken picture is for you! And here is my marshutka stop. It seems so odd covered in snow. I used to meet Sara and Patrick here every morning as we headed to class during training. I am suddenly so thankful that we are not doing such things now.
