Well, almost my first. My first full day in Lugansk. I spent much of the morning on the internet and organizing my room. But I got out this afternoon. The city is teeming with flower beds and people everywhere. You can tell that this is a winter town for much of the year, because people are enjoying as much of the sun as possible. All the trees are full of leaves and the afternoon thunder storms with downpours that last only a short time do not even seem to phase the locals.
I am very much enjoying my new home and I look forward to sharing it with all of you in the coming years.
This is the very center of Lugansk, or at least the very center as far as I can tell. I had the opportunity to sit on a bench and watch the world go by while chatting with my friend, Andrea, in Crimea on the phone. Even with all the people milling about this is one of my favorite places in Lugansk.
Ah, a fountain in the summer heat protected by a lion. Absolutely perfect on a hot summer day!
The really loved the light on this building…and the planter is completely normal in Ukraine. So fun!!!
This precious little cat did not even notice the rain as it slept the afternoon away.
