106 people = 424 pieces of luggage

You can spot any of anywhere was we travel through airports.  We are the ones with four bags weighing in at approximately 140 lbs.  We are Peace Corps trainees.  The logistics of preparing to transport a group of 106 is crazy, but then you add their combined 424 pieces of luggage and WOW!

All of us left are homes with something much like this.  Mine weighing exactly 142 lbs.  Heavy and awkward does not even begin to describe how I actually managed to lug all these through an airport.

Here we are arriving in Kyiv.  All of us have luggage carts that are awesome.  I can easily push 140 lbs, but carry, not so good at.  All of our luggage is loaded into the back of a transport vehicle, much like a Uhaul.

The first task when we arrive at the training facility is to unload the truck, find your bags and move the checked bags into a storage room.  This was somewhat interesting.  Imagine 106 people collectively searching through 424 pieces of luggage in a driveway to find their four bags and haul them into a storage room.  It was wild.

We all made with only a few minor luggage mishaps.  As far as I know, no one had any lost or late luggage, but we did have some lost wheels and broken hardware on a few pieces.  Note to Dave and Julie: I don’t think the piece you gave me is going to make it back to the US.  The poor thing is feeling it is abuse.
All of my luggage made it with nothing broken and all things in tacked.
