a “get’er done” kind of weekend

My boss would love the above tag.  As a 32 year Marine vet and fighter pilot, he is a “get’re done” kind of guy.

The weekend is only half way complete and I am getting a handle on a few things.  My 5000 piece mailing that is due to be mailed on Wednesday is almost ready to be compiled.  Each piece has five inserts, it is a crazy project.  All materials are printed in house by yours truly and I have many volunteers who be busy stuffing envelopes on Monday and Tuesday.  I love  my 300 volunteers!!  And I am thrilled that my final projects are in the planning stages, just getting steps closer to having my department ready for a a new leader.

As far as home life, I finally put together a “Managing My Life During Peace Corps Service” informational sheet for my sister.  I also completed, or at least started a weekly things to do list.  There is more than I can possibly imagine to get done in the next few months.  It has been six weeks since I accepted my invite, I am thrilled and so excited, but I really need to get organized or I am never going to make it.

I also finally got organized regarding Christmas today.  I have been doing random shopping for months, but I actually got everything down on paper.  I am putting together these really fun Ukraine boxes for my family and even ordered these really cool PCVP (Peace Corps Volunteer Parent) t-shirts for the parents today.  So fun!!!
