Life at a slow crawl…

And really I have no complaints.  After years of constant, I love that I can put the most of me into things that I enjoy and want from my life.  I had a random evening with a couple of friends early this week and one of them talked about how quickly each passes as we get order.  And how true that is.  Weeks and months pass in the blink of an eye these days.

This concept makes me so appreciate the days I have now and my days to come.  A slower pace is one of the reasons I moved closer to work, although it meant leaving the city…I wanted slower.  A slower pace is one of the things I am most looking forward to in the Peace Corps.  Someday I will need a busy social life again and I will definitely need to diversify myself and get out more, but I love that my life is mostly about me and doing my best for me.  Not that school wasn’t for me, but the daily needs of school were always about the next paper or project.  Time was definitely not on my side in school.

A friend the other day commented that my life sounded dull, and to the average man, that may be true.  However, for me, who life has tended to be circus until now, I am happily dull.  My life still consists of friends and family, with some long works hours thrown in for good measure, but my dull life also consists of my future.  Who knows what the next five years may mean for my life, but the first step is the Peace Corps, so before I pack my entire life into two bags weighing no more than a combined 80lbs, I am going to enjoying being dull because right now dull means laid back and ‘laid back’ is certainly not a term I use for my life very often.

One’s life will pass so very quickly, enjoy each day for what it is and when you look back, have no regrets.

I thnik sometimes we need a little slow to throw a balance to our lives. Whoever said your life sounded dull... Must not be a very balanced individual.
