State of Change...

My life always seems to be in a constant state of change. Thank goodness I love change. Change revitalizes me. I enjoy new challenges, while hoping I haven’t bit off more then I can chew. And this time around I can say all is well. I have had a large amount of flux and change in my roles within American Express. As many of you know for the last nine months I have been supporting the Stoel Rives account. I had a great time at Stoel, but who am I kidding, I was just bidding my time before I moved on to the next position within American Express.

So, here I am at the next position. I now support the Con-way Freight account. My path for the last two weeks has been full of twists and turns, but I have a new work home…with a corner window space that looks out at Mt. Hood…amazing. So, the path. On Thursday, the 12th of June, I received a call at my Stoel office asking for assistance with coverage for the week of June 16th at the Stockamp account. Stoel and Stockamp utilize the same reservation system, so although the account would be new to me, I would know the reservation system. With Stoel’s approval, the next day I was saying goodbye to my coworkers of the last nine months and hitting the ground at a full run on Monday morning. Stockamp was BUSY! What a week. I went from a 32 hr/4 day (Mondays off) work week at Stoel to a 48hr/5 day work week at Stockamp. And I loved it! Stockamp is a great account with great travelers.

Now for Con-way. I started at the Con-way account yesterday. And so far, so good. I am changing reservation systems with Con-way and the learning curve has been interesting. In non-travel terms, it is comparable to moving from a Dell to a MAC…many things are similar and just enough of a change to drive a person crazy. I am brain dead by the time I leave the office.

As far as a regular life update…all is well. I have decided that boys are dumb…LOL. Thanks to JR for the endless talking as of late. I cannot imagine life without great guy friends. They don’t count in the “boys are dumb” idea...LOL. School is still fantastic. And it still kicks my butt, however I love it. Well, I will change my mind in three weeks, but right now it is fabulous…LOL. Two of my nephews have birthdays this week…Ryan turns 3 today and Sazon turns 1 on Sunday…and they are both adorable. In fact, I sung to Happy Birthday to Ryan today and the reward was a giggle. Absolutely adorable. I am headed to Colorado next Wednesday for six days with Ryan and family…and I can’t wait. My mom closed on her house on Friday, so I am scheduling a move, painters, etc. So, in a nut shell, my life is as crazy as ever. And summer always seems to be more nuts than the rest of year.

Well Amy, the reason you got the corner window with the nice view is because you are writing all of our mid-year and year end reviews for the team. You have to do Janet's first though. :)

I know I am glad to have you as a team mate. Nice to have a strong personality that laughs and "woo hoos" with me.
